MA’s Group Empowers Women's Digital Knowledge with Produce of Paradise
In support of women's empowerment and their ability to make informed choices, Produce of Paradise, a subsidiary of the MA’s group, has launched a series of technology awareness programs aimed at enhancing the computer literacy of its female employees. This initiative was planned in celebration of International Women's Day 2023.
As technology advances at an exponential rate, the digital knowledge levels among employees vary significantly. In response, MA's Group CEO Maliek de Alwis emphasized the importance of a basic foundation in digital literacy for all employees, regardless of their level within the organization
"We believe that it's crucial to provide equal learning opportunities for all our employees. With ongoing technological advancements, we don't want anyone to be left behind," said de Alwis.
The introductory program provided a basic understanding of commonly used software and apps. As an ongoing learning opportunity, it will serve as the foundation for an extended program. By investing in its female employees' digital skills, MA's Group and Produce of Paradise are taking an important step toward gender equity in Sri Lanka.
